One Third Triathelete!

3rd Brunei Triathlon

3rd Brunei Triathlon

I woke up before 5 a.m to pack up my things up. Waited for Subuh prayer and went to Pantai Serasa straight away to register my self up. Went back to my house at around 6 a.m  and started to load my bike and gear on to my truck.

Namirul, our awesome swimmer was there and he was ready to do his part. Amazingly, I was not  nervous at all although I knew the cyclist line up was ’super uber’ than me (most of them are in the Project Gold a.k.a National Team) – I was calm and ready to race.

When Namirul came out from the sea, I grabbed the yellow band and run towards the cycling area and the cycling part started there.

I thought I was doing pretty good and quite fast (it must be the powergel) but all these national athletes passing me like ‘cakui’. Made the way I cycled like strolling to a city for sightseeing. Damn! they were fast! Even International Playboi overtook me around the Tungku Link bypass. Damnnnnnn this weight! I blamed it on my weight!!!! I think If I am lighter a bit , I can be good as the National Cyclist hahah.

Upon arrival I was looking for Z.M and apparently he was not around – was a bit panicked and he showed up finally – passed the yellow band and he continued running.

Overall, I was extremely happy with the overall performance especially my cycling part. I predicted around 1:30-1:40 but I did 1:23!!! All that 1 month training was all worth it! and I think we did within the qualified time. We will do this again next year. Well done guys.

Congratulations to International Playboi (finished at number 6) and Bahar (finished at number 10) for this event. If you want to see the top 10 results go to Bahar’s site.I wished I could see the full result.
